Defeat imperialist aggression in Venezuela with the organized working class!

US imperialism out of the Caribbean and Latin America!

In the early hours of January 3rd, US imperialism bombed regions of Venezuela and captured Maduro and his wife, in its escalation to discipline the region with its "new Donroe Doctrine," as it calls it.

It is clear that it will not be the supposedly progressive governments of Lula, Sheinbaum, or Petro that will come to the defense of the Venezuelan people, since they are bound by multiple ties to US imperialism. Nor will there be a response from the restorationist bureaucracies of China and Russia, as they seek to assimilate into the capitalist system by negotiating with decaying US imperialism.

The warmongering escalation that Trump initiated by bombing Venezuela inevitably accelerates the pace of class struggle, and these are historical processes that force our class to leap over stages, or compress them. In other words, transitional tasks must be taken up in the struggle for power in order to avoid a catastrophic defeat. TheVenezuelan proletariat must Take in the task of placing the oil industry under workers' control, dissolve the army, reclaim the weapons, and organize the struggle for a workers' government, creating vanguard detachments to build a revolutionary party as a section of the reconstructed Fourth International. As revolutionaries, we must support the Trotskyist groups in Venezuela that are fighting for this perspective and put foward for our region the occupation of all American companies, such as Chevron and others, in an anti-imperialist struggle against all the governments in power, whether they are pro-imperialist allies, such as Milei, or supposed opponents, such as Lula.

It is the Venezuelan workers who must settle accounts with the corrupt government of Maduro and the military leadership. We must destroy the repressive forces such as the police and paramilitary forces, which were the guarantors of the plunder and exploitation of the people. We must develop the nucleus of a revolutionary process to defeat the US offensive and be better prepared for the future targets of imperialism, such as Cuba.

We call on US workers to confront Trump, break with the imperialist parties, and ally with workers in the region who are fighting against imperialism for a revolutionary way out, for a Federation of Socialist Republics of Latin America and the Caribbean.

We propose an urgent meeting of Trotskyist tendencies in the region to discuss an international campaign and joint actions.
